The History Of The Star-Shaped Town

The town hall is located in San Giovanni but Stella is not just one; they're 5. The five country words are totally indipendent each other so they have their own parish and inhabitants; the name Stella says everything about the geographic location of the 5 country words. The origins bounds to the Middle Ages; aroud the twelwth century Stella was owned by a branch of Aleramici then , by the end of that period (1200) went to be controlled by Savona. After a short period of time Stella went under Grimaldi family's control and in 1244, as the Pape Innocenzo IV was going to Lione Church Concil, he was lodged in the town castle. Between 1386 and 1392 Stella was controlled by the Genoan Republic. After that Stella kept having his own indipendency as strted by the rules used from 1550 up to 1797.
